Who are we?
We are a bunch of ordinary Christians meeting in Openshaw, East Manchester with a vision to reach out to new people, to grow spiritually and to raise up new leaders. We are White British and we are African, with married and single people, plus a mixture of ages.
Where and when do we meet?
We meet mid-week in our homes to share life and open the Bible together, also we meet at 10:30am on Sundays* at Sporting Edge, Silverlace Avenue, M11 1GN. We have also run outreach events at other local venues.
Who’s invited?
The short answer is everyone but in particular we have a heart to communicate – and live out – the Christian faith in a language that regular people without church backgrounds can understand and which children can also begin to get their heads around.
Vision Night: 3 September 2016 at 7pm
Please can all friends of Hope Community Church save the date for Saturday 3rd September at 7pm. We want to invite you to an early evening where we can share our vision as a church, pray together and lay out 3 concrete ways in which people can support the church, including through prayer.
If you live in, or around East Manchester and would like to register an interest, please email us on hopecommunitychurch1@yahoo.co.uk or else text “Vision” and your first name to 07810 301 566.
More Vision Stuff
Our vision includes following two key passages of the Bible:
- Matthew 28 – to go, make disciples, baptise & teach obedience – that is, to be a family on mission with Jesus
- Jeremiah 29 – to seek the peace the prosperity of the city to which God has called us. Put simply, we want to help others in East Manchester and beyond.
Starting Small
We started pretty small but aim to grow in love for God and people as well as in numbers and to share the Gospel with as many people in East Manchester as we can, and we trust Him to grow faith in a tough place. Just after Easter 2015 we were approved as a registered charity, ref. 1161460.
